Frequently asked questions.

  • Yes, booking ahead to have your flowers preserved ensures that there is availability for your bouquet in our schedule.

  • Once you know your wedding date, feel free to reach out to book your date, and we will let you know if we’re available.

  • In order for your flowers to be pressed and to receive the best results, the bouquet must be delivered within three to four days of the event at the latest. Before delivering your flowers, please keep them in a vase in cool water. This will help keep them in the best shape for preservation.

  • Flower preservation by way of pressing takes approximately six to eight weeks. Turnaround times for pressed frames can take three to four months. It really depends on the season/time of the year when there are more special events happening. Our busier season is typically May through December.

  • No, you cannot press already dried flowers as they would crumble. We can display them in a shadow box, though.

  • No, the beauty of a shadow box is that the flowers are being preserved as they are. You do not need to rush them to us after the event as you would flowers that are being pressed. They need to completely dry before being preserved. In fact, with shadow boxes, we can preserve flowers that have been dried for years. There is no time limit, just making sure the flowers are still in good shape.

  • Yes, the colors of your flowers will change during the preservation process. White flowers tend to be yellow/tan, and red flowers tend to get darker, etc. It’s all a part of the preservation process. Additionally, over time, after your blooms are framed, if they are kept in a sunny location, they will fade.

  • Absolutely! We love preserving flowers for other special events in life. Just let us know what you’re thinking, and we’ll see if we can get your flowers on our schedule at that time. We understand you can’t always plan for these events, so we will do our best to make things work.

  • Perpetual Flora does not accept returns. All sales are considered final once the customer has delivered or shipped their event flowers to Perpetual Flora. Returns are not accepted as these are custom-made floral preservation pieces of art created from flowers from the customer’s said event.

  • Perpetual Flora does understand that the unexpected happens every day and does accept cancellations up until the date of the customer’s event.

Where did the name “Perpetual Flora” come from?

Definitions from Merriam-Webster:
Perpetual – 1. a) continuing forever b) valid for all time
2. occurring continually: indefinitely long-continued
3. blooming continuously throughout the season
Flora – 1. a treatise on or list of the plants of an area or period
2. plant, bacterial, or fungal life

When thinking of a name for a flower preservation service, I wanted something that made sense yet was also meaningful.

The word perpetual came to mind one day while in church, saying the prayer for the faithful departed. I am religious, and as one of many who have experienced the loss of a loved one, this prayer stands out to me during mass. So, when saying “and let perpetual light shine upon them,” I instantly thought of my mom, loved the word, the meaning, and just knew that’s the word I wanted to use for this business.

Flora was the easy one, it was chosen simply for the fact that we are working with flowers and greenery, and I personally think it’s just a pretty word.

To wrap things up, in my mind, Perpetual Flora means everlasting flowers. And that’s the story of how the name Perpetual Flora came to life.
